Someone recently asked me why I don’t drink, but more importantly they didn’t accept my generic “I don’t need it” answer – that’s why I’m writing this post. It’s an important question that I think most 18 year-olds don’t think about enough, especially kids going off to college. I assure you this is not going to be some morality rant where I tell you how bad it is to drink, but I do think it’s fair to say though that I do stand by my choice and that it was a conscious decision. I don’t drink because (more…)

6 Ways That Advertising Negatively Affects Us
Advertising is constantly demanding your attention everywhere you go, unless you live in the ad-free city of Sao Paulo. If you’re like me, you probably haven’t thought about the negative affects of ads that much. Why should you, it’s just a part of life right? Indeed, it is and we’re so used to having it around that it has desensitized us. We as a society barely notice the billboards next to parks, building walls covered with flyers, and the school buses driving by with ads, yup you read that correctly. Here are some reasons why you should be more aware of what advertising can do: (more…)

Stop Looking For Happiness on Shaadi dot Com
The moment I saw this ad from Shaadi.com I couldn’t wait to write this post.Their ad’s message pretty much sums up what critics dislike (said: hate) about marketing (said: advertising). I got into a mini blog comment argument about why too much advertising was not something worth fighting over. I still stand by that opinion, but I can see the other side now. (more…)

Indwelling GOD of the Gita Enriches Humanity
(my speech from 2009)
We are we are… the youth of the nation, a nation that has lost all its youth with age.
It’s not that we’re not smart or don’t have what it takes, we just make mistakes.
And to the Friz from the bus that’s A-okay, get down, get messy so you can learn she’d say.
Sometimes we need those experiences and taste the consequences because we are seeking results
But there’s gotta be a limit or else we’re just increasing our faults
How long can we carry on aimlessly? Isn’t there something that explains how to live painlessly?
Yes there is my friend and she’s really old, but none before or after her have been so bold.
Her name is Ms. Geeta and she’s an amazing teecha if you just open her up, you’ll find the words of God
OMG are you serious? Yes. O M G is on the money, you just hit the gold
Ain’t nothing gon help you like what Arjun’s been told.

Introduction to Spirit Science and Consciousness
I stumbled onto the Spirit Science video series while browsing Facebook yesterday, and I couldn’t stop watching until I finished all 16 videos! They’re thoughtful, creative, and perfect for someone even slightly interested in “spirituality & consciousness.” Jordan Duchnycz, the creative mind behind these videos, has taken what can be dry, difficult to grasp concepts and turned them into 10 minute “lessons” with lots of references for those interested in diving deeper. He repeatedly mentions (more…)

Are You Human | Manushya Gaurav Din
All the websites that use captcha to ask us this question are apologetic. Are they worried that we’ll be insulted >> (“HOW DARE THEY ASK ME SUCH A QUESTION, I’M SO INSULTED!”)?I’m not sure that they need to be so worried. I doubt anyone takes pride in this simple fact anymore >> (“Yeah, I’m human… so what?”). Here’s a friendly reminder of how unique we are as a species (more…)

Photo Recovery Software Equals Happiness
3 weeks ago, Bhumi and I set off for sunny Florida for our honeymoon. Every night of the trip we would come back to the room and download all of the pictures we had taken onto my computer to make space on the memory card for the next day’s adventure. About two weeks after we got home I got a computer virus and it wiped out all of my files. Among those files were our honeymoon pics – all 500 of them. Fortunately I had uploaded a lot of them to Facebook the night after we returned so we had some low quality versions left, but it was a really sad moment when I realized that all those pics had gone away forever… or so I thought.
